The Early Years Online Hub is a user-friendly platform that helps young parents access Early Years' information and services within the Swan Hill Local Government Area. The Hub covers just about everything parents and carers need to know at this important stage of life

Web Development

The main users of the website are young families seeking services, resources, events and the latest news relevant to their situation which included:

  • Kids’ Activities and online learning
  • All Early Childhood Services across the region
  • Regular weekly events specific for parents with young children
  • Community places perfect for young families
  • View services according to township
  • Early Years blog for professional health care providers

Branding

Developing a unique brand through the use of custom illustrations has meant the platform is eye-catching and engaging. Supplementary to th branding we also created:

Training & Workshops

We conducted several face-to-face community stakeholder engagement workshops in the main townships of Swan Hill & Robinvale to attain a better understanding of the needs of the communities they service.

As well as this we developed a practical working model that included training sessions for staff to facilitate in-house management of the website.

Technical Aspects

As the early years resource portal is based in rural Victoria and NSW most of the target audience have poor internet connection and generally access health information on their phones. That’s why we ensured the website was:

  • 100% Mobile responsive
  • Ensure the website loads like lightening thanks to utilising the latest React/ Django database technologies
  • First class Content Distribution network (CDN)
  • Image pre-processor

Branding & Design

By developing a fun and friendly brand with lots of custom illustrations for the local early years community we have created a platform that really stands out. By developing a range of posters, brochures, stickers and fridge magnets we aimed at engaging with the local community away from technology.
