Websites for Secondary Colleges

The design

Castlemaine Secondary College approached us for a new website to better reflect the school as a modern vibrant place to learn.

Our designer prepared a dynamic offset design to include the colour of the College’s yellow logo, royal blue and turquoise. Hero images of students displayed in a slider that continuously scrolls, conveys an energetic and happy learning environment.  Current images of students actively engaged in the various environments of the school, such as the science room, on the sports ground, at assembly, on camp and around the school grounds to bring it into the present day.

Content

The website is packed full of up to date information about the school. There are multiple downloadable resources, school calendar, newsletters and and event notices. The information is relevant for teachers, parents and carers.

The user experience

The challenge was to present the content in a user friendly format. It needed to be accessible with easy to navigate menus so teachers, students and parents can find the information they are looking for at first glance. As an example of this, the student Absence Line is highly visible on the top of the home page so stressed parents can find it easily.

We also have to thank the College for providing us with comprehensive and informative text and dynamic happy photos of current students.
