The Neighbourhood House sector works within in a community development framework, with a membership-based governance model. We believe that this approach builds social connections and networks that are based on trust, respect and reciprocal interaction – known as social capital.

RANCH approached us to build a website that acts as a members directory for each Neighbourhood House within the network. We updated the logo to be recognisable and to reflect a community organisation that is welcome and caring. We branded the website to follow the look of the logo, including the colour palette, and with big hero images of country Victoria. Slideshows are built in to showcase RANCH community work, and light boxes containing images of every member house in the network.

An embedded interactive Google Maps with pinned addresses of each Community House and a simple calendar of events were included on the site. The calendar system was set up to allow select committee members to update new events and scheduled meetings as required.

The site had to include a hidden portal for admin staff to access important PDF documentation, such as policy and procedures manuals, minutes of meetings and staff updates. The brief was to make this staff portal password protected with an interface similar to a PC layout, eliminating the need for new learning curves and extra training.
