I’m Just Passing Through

First, I suppose I ought to introduce myself. Everyone calls me Doc. I’ve tried a few times to shake that nickname, but after nearly forty years, I decided I was stuck with it so I just gave up.

I’m a friend of Rob’s, just dropping in to help cover his absence while he’s off for a little well-earned relaxation.  I may not be as knowledgeable as he is, but I’ll try to make up for the shortcoming with a little comic relief now and then.

It’s been several decades since I last visited Oz, and as I recall, there are some subtle (and a few not so subtle) differences in the way we butcher the Queen’s English. So I hope you all can understand Yank, because I checked, and it looks like Google Translate won’t be of much help to you. I’m a Texan, which means I do real well to be understood by anyone. If you can put up with me for a short while, Rob will be back soon, to put things right.

My partner and I own a smallish agency in the States, from which we provide SEO services, such as content strategy, SEO copywriting, social media management and a flock of other services of that general flavor. Our job is to help websites be found and understood by both the search engines and their users. We have a couple dozen members on our team, and we all like what we do.

A good portion of our enjoyment comes from getting to know a lot of different people in various business niches. Since the nature of our business requires that we get to know each client’s business intimately, it follows that we often end up turning clients into friends. We especially enjoy that part.

Rob’s one of those clients that very quickly began to turn into friendship. Sometimes you just meet someone and take an immediate liking to them. When the feeling’s mutual, the friendship forms quickly. Though what Rob finds likable about an old cuss like me is a puzzle.

But then, I’ve heard it said that many of us are just one step away from madness. So I guess maybe Rob’s just a half-step closer than some, eh?

Anyway, I wanted to give you fair warning that there’s a stranger in your midst. I don’t think I’m contagious, but I may make you shake your head in bewilderment now and then. Bear with me and feel free to take your best shot in the comments, while I try not to make too big a fool of myself, talking about art. I’ll try to focus on how SEO can help your art business.
